Eurovision nightGot myself some ice cream and will be making myself compfy on the sofa so I'm ready for the big, glittery, horrible music, camp, pointless politics, drama that is eurovision. It never disappoints me.

Sadly I will be alone for this one. Matt had to do a concert he didn't want to do, so I will be live tweeting (humonlazydiva) my impression of the whole shebang.

The Echo chamber dilemmaThe promise of the Internet was that unlimited information and experiences would draw us together. But instead it seems to have driven us apart.
For years I've observed this behavior but haven't been able to vocalize it correctly. Originally I called the behavior of collective opinions as "the hive mentality" of the Internet. But that wasn't exactly right and I often got called out on it. The most prominent example was when I made a comic about a guy disagreeing with opinions and being shouted at till he remained quiet, eventually fading into the background with everyone else. The consensus of that comic was that if you disagree with someone you aren't bullied into not speaking, but instead are free to go someplace else where people who do agree with you exist. And you know what? That wasn't what i was trying to convey, but is sadly true. The Internet is not a hive mind. It's many tiny pocket echo chambers of mutual agreements.
And this is becoming a growing problem, I think, because n

We went shopping at Target today and for whatever reason the isle of children's dvds made me feel happy/nostalgic. I want to collect so many of them - especially the Disney Dvds! They had some with little short stories for the Disney Princesses that looked really cute. They also had some Ghibli Dvds, Toy Story 3, and some Disney classics like Sword in the Stone etc. I ended up buying How to Train Your Dragon - yayyy! It was only $13 too!

Then we continued to the toy isles which were full of all sorts of cute dolls of Rapunzel and the other Disney Princesses! And ahhh I don't know I just had a lot of fun looking at all of the new toys that are out for Christmas.

My sister and I have been working on our Disney and other classics dvd collection for a while now and we still have a bunch more to get but I always take a look at the children's dvd section whenever I go to target or walmart or any other store, really. I recently bought Oliver & Company :> I saw How to Train Your Dragon there too, but it was $24 :C I'm too cheap to buy it at that price lol
